It now appears that New Line Home Cinema has changed its dts HDMA 7.1 algorithm, as it appears that their 2 latest releases – The Orphanage and The Golden Compass – now play perfectly well in 7.1 when played on the PlayStation 3 console and outputted as LPCM to a receiver. Good news!
However, we are still waiting to find out what Sony will do about the problem with New Line’s earlier releases (Shoot ‘em Up, Rush Hour 3, Pans Labyrinth, and Hairspray) that play only as 5.1, even though the PS3 clearly states 7.1. We wait and hope for a firmware update to clear this up once and for all.

nice blog!
with so many deals made lately, it seems like sony is now more interested in downloads than blu ray. the format will be shortlived.
